Ingredients of Vegetarian Pulao

  1. Prepare 250 g of Basmati rice.
  2. You need 1/2 of cauliflower florets.
  3. You need 1 of Carrot cut into small and thin slices.
  4. Prepare 1-2 of bay leaves.
  5. It's 1 teaspoon of Garam masala powder.
  6. Prepare 1-2 of Cinnamon sticks.
  7. You need 2-3 of cardamoms.
  8. You need 2-3 of cloves.
  9. It's 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds.
  10. Prepare 1 teaspoon of black pepper powder.
  11. It's As needed of oil/ghee.
  12. It's To taste of Salt/sugar.

Vegetarian Pulao instructions

  1. Clean and Soak rice for 30 mins.
  2. Place a pan with water on Gas and add the whole Garam masala, bay leaves into it and bring to boil. Add the soaked rice and 1/2 tablespoon salt and cook till it's 70% cooked.
  3. Remove water and keep the cooked rice aside.
  4. Blanch the cut carrots and cauliflower florets and keep aside. Add some ghee or oil in a pan and add Cumin seeds to crackle.
  5. Add the carrots, cauliflowers, salt, black pepper powder and Garam masala powder and saute for few minutes.
  6. Add little water into this and add it to the vessel which has the rice and mix lightly.
  7. Place a tawa on Gas in low flame and put the rice vessel on the tawa and cover it. Let it cook for 8-10 mins.
  8. Remove the pulao and serve hot with raita or some fries.
